My friend in Seattle has been trying to hunt down a good pizza spot for awhile. A pizza spot that delivers would be ideal -any suggestions?

Depends on where they are. In Northeast Seattle, gotta try Mad Pizza on Lake City Way (though they have other locations around town) http://www.yelp.com/bi... and my local fave in Wedgwood is Jet City Pizza because they aren't afraid of lots of garlic  http://www.yelp.com/bi...

They both deliver.

We've been ordering Soprano's in Ballard.  It's thick and gooey, definitely not New York Style.  Pagliacchi and Mad Pizza are good, but your friend has probably tried them already.

Thick and gooey sounds good. It seems like deep dish is the rage in SF lately.

Madame K's in Ballard has some wicked deep dish.

And SODO Pizza is very good. They can basically make any custom pizza you desire.

Just wanted to thank you, Jasmine, for the Madame K's recommendation.  The pizza was very good (still not proper deep dish, but really tasty nonetheless), and the ambience of the place is great.   And that chocolate chip orgasm.. now that's a dessert!

Oh, and I second that comment on Piecora's -- it is definitely the best pizza I've had since living in Seattle.

for something close to authentic neapolitan pizza (thin crust, crunchy on the outside yet still chewy on the inside) there are two places, via tribunali on capitol hill and tutta bella in wallingford.

via tribunali gives you good pizza in a great atmosphere.  a little along the lines of small italian pizzeria.  nice for a date.

tutta bella makes some great pizzas, cheaper than via tribunali.  but the restaurant itself has a family and friends feel with its open, modern space.

you can read my full reviews of them here:

Tutta Bella on Rainier....  best pizza I've had in Seattle...  sadly, no delivery...  but on the up side, while you're waiting for your table, they hand out yummy pizza crust drizzled with olive oil, fresh herbs, and sea salt....  and last time we went, they actually gave us little glasses of wine while we were waiting!  Yay!!!

To me, California Pizza Kitchen at Northgate Mall is the best. Their sicilian   pizza is my favorite. Second to that,Olympia Pizza & Spaghetti House on the top of Queen Anne Hill is extremely good but you should come hungry because they are packed with goodies.

Pagliacci's.  Pesto Primo is a favorite, though its hard to go wrong with anything they make, classic or innovative.  Olympia is also good as is Piecora's.  And Mad Pizza ain't too shabby either.  But Pagliacci's all the way for me, thanks!

#1 Pizzuto's in the seward park area

thin crust, nice complimentary sauce, excellent quality toppings

#2a Paggliacci's

Mostly just the cheese pizza. This just always tastes good to me.

#2b Tutta Bella

very thin crust and very different than the above two. Less cheese and less toppoings but very tasty.

New favorite: Spinach Artichoke with red onions and whole cloves of roasted garlic on basil olive oil thin crust from Garlic Jim's - newly opened in Ravenna. It's not the BEST thin crust, but the garlic is killer and the cheese very gooey.

pagliacci's- your typical pizza place... but they always have fresh ingredients. there's this one w/ white sauce, red onions, and chicken... forgot the name, but soooo good.

atlantic street pizza- i think it changed it's name, though. it's on university way, a little past the main strip going north. they PACK on the ingredients. the slices are sooo heavy, you must eat it w/ a knife/fork. i love it. their marinara is out of this world. spicy, delicious, and original.

Palermo on 15th is my current favorite pizza. http://www.palermorest.../
A very close 2nd is Pegasus on Alki in West Seattle. Get the Tom's Special. Julienned pepperoni on top of the cheese: it crisps up like bacon. Only thing I don't like about Pegasus is that it always smells like wet, moldy carpet inside. I think it's because their carpet is wet and moldy...

I like Zeeks pizza around Queen Anne/Belltown. I know they have other locations too. They do deliver, but be sure to inquire which areas they deliver to before placing an order. They don't deliver to all areas yet.

I like their cheeses and sauce and they also serve the pizza with little tubs of melted garlic butter. yum!

Pagliacci Pizza is to me the best "mini/local" chain around.  The thin crust is outstanding and is the only crust that my son, the extremely picky pizza crust eater will eat, and that's saying a lot since pizza is his only food group worth noting.  The AGOG is the best, we went last  night and had the "seasonal" offering, SALUMI PRIMO, using Salumi Artisan Cured Meats, one word, OUTFREAKINGSTANDING!!!

Thankfully they seem to be opening up new ones all over the place, a true worthy of a piece of zahh....

Ugh.  I've been living in Seattle now for a year, and I really love it out here.  Mountains, water, snowboarding, hiking, great music, great seafood.  What's not to like?  Well, every time I hear someone talk about the wonderful pizza at Pagliacci or Zeek's it makes we want to run to Seatac and get on the standby list for the flight back to Chicago.

Ok, so perhaps I'm taking it a bit too far, but the Pacific Northwest has a lot to learn about pizza.  Fortunately, there are a couple of places to get a good thin-crust pie.  Try Piecora's on Capitol Hill for a nice NY style pie.  All aspects of the pie are very good except sometimes there's a bit too much crust.  Also try Lumette Firefly in Queen Anne for really good crust and very tasty sauce.  Bambino's in Belltown, which apparently opened fairly recently, makes a great NY-style pie also -- thinner and more like an Italian pizza than Piecora's.  And finally, give Tutta Bella a try if you're looking for a Neapolitan style pie.

I'd take Mad Pizza in a pinch, but I'm not a huge fan. PieCoras is definately a good bet as mentioned above.

My favorite place these days is All Purpose Pizza in the Central District. They use a sourdough crust but don't let that sway you, it's quite good. They have several good combinations, and if you eat in they have a good beer selection and nice surroundings. They deliver to a wide area as well. They're pretty concientious about it too. One night I ordered and they were short staffed and they called me several times to update me on the drivers progress and offered to cancel the order if it was being too late.

I don' t know if people are still talking about pizza in this town, but my fave is by the above suggestion - All-Purpose Pizza
Wow! Sourdough crust, amazing beer specials. I am really not sure what the draw is to Pagliacci's - maybe name recognition? All-Purpose has a hand tossed crust that is cooked to perfection - I love it. Delivery now comes to beacon hill!! yippee skippy. Kid friendly area offers a distraction to the little ones, but if you don't have kids, come after 7:30pm as it can be a little loud with the kid activity (as parents park the kids in that area and let them "go"). I like to go around 8pm. The owners work there and the staff is super nice. Have the ked's fave - Arugula (put on AFTER the pie is cooked, amazing) prosciutto, almonds, parmesan on a garlic olive oil sauce. My wife loves the fire starter - spicy red pizza sauce, jalepeno, meats - yum. My neighbor says the meatballs are amazing, but I am so stuck on the pizza, I can't stray. The crust is hearty enough to stand up to the massive amounts of toppings they put on - this is no flimsy new york style pizza - this is the real deal....

The best Pizza in Seattle is at the Northlake Pizza on Northlake Way, North side of Lake Union. It has been in business forever here and it is all homemade, best, fresh, crispy salads and cold beer! You guys have obviously not had good pizza yet.

atlantic street was the best... until harry passed away... now it's no more.  how sad.

seriously, my mom used to freeze the pizza to take with her to korea.  what i would do to get my hands on the garlic gulch.  can't wait to go to heaven so I can get my hands on that. :)

also, if you ever get the chance, you should try Bronx pizza from San Diego.  it's better than ANY pizza i've ever had!! (and i've tried pizza from all over the place.  NY and Chicago included)

it's bad, jessica t.  i saw your picture and went "i don't think that person's from seattle." because i'm usually on yelp!sf, but i'm in seattle for a while.  i think the moral of the story is either that you start threads a lot, or i'm crazy.  probably the latter.

bronx pizza!  that's a blast from the past.   this is the part where i wander off to yelp it.
