Hello all!  I am a Chicago yelper and a small group of us are going out in San Diego this weekend for my friend's 30th birthday.   What are some fun dance clubs and good sushi restaurants??

Thanks!

The epicenter for dance clubs is downtown in the gaslamp district. Lots of places have different styles going on in different parts of the club. (House upstairs, hip hip downstairs, etc). Try the Bitter End, Belo. Stingaree is the 'hot new' place, but I've never personally been there.

If you want to go more cazh (and cheaper), try Pacific Beach. The main drag, Garnet Ave has lots of clubs and bars. It's more of a college age crowd.

Mr Tiki downtown is fun, they have sushi  and pupu's, and lots of crazy mixed drinks.

Sushi restaurants: Sushi Ota and Zenbu.  If you're into Flamenco/Salsa/Paella/Sangria, then Cafe Sevilla offers just that  and more with Flamenco dinner show on Friday and Sunday nights. Check my other rec under the Talk topic East Coaster in sunny San diego.  Thanks!

Sushi: Ra (the sushi isn't the best, but the place is huge, which makes it a good group birthday-type spot).

Dancing: Henry's, it's a downtown restaurant and bar. Wednesday nights are the best. That's when my girl Lady Dottie plays.
